S Djarv Smallest Carving Axe with sheath
Description
This axe head weighs 11.5 ounces and the handle is about 3 ounces, so altogether, this little axe weighs in at 14.5 ounces. It is the smaller axe on the left in the photo of the two axes. Includes one of Kenneth's custom, vegetable tanned leather sheaths. (the larger axe and the sheath are not included in the sale of this item...)
This axe is versatile and easy to control, with a light but dense head and a nicely balanced handle; a great choice for spoon carving and light hatchet work. Because of its light weight, people who are new to axe work or who only occasionally swing an axe will find this one easy to use. It has a 3” wide blade and a 13” elm handle which has small parallel ridges finely cut into the surface to enhance the grip. This small axe is great for children and light enough to take on a nomadic spoon carving adventure or even backpacking. Hand forged in Sweden.
