The Maine Coast Craft School has taken time to hatch.
After several years of actively thinking, planning and talking about it,
with the guidance and support of many friends,
and after more than 30 years of Kenneth doing and teaching woodworking,
we are ready to launch our dream.

Before classes start next summer we’ve got big plans.
We’ve been preparing the site for the reassembly and the raising of the 1800’s timber framed building
which Kenneth salvaged a few years ago. This will be our classroom building.

We also have plans for renovating our vintage 1970's Airstream Argosy trailer as an office space or a guest room.
And we will be hosting a community-build week to make the first of several planned
Bill Coperthwaite style yurts on our property, which will provide guest lodging for students
who appreciate rustic quarters.
For those workshop participants who would choose more amenities, there are lots of B&B’s in the area.
Check out the 'area amenities' page for details and maps.

thank yous
We are extremely grateful to Erika & Fred Musser for funds to support our summer interns this year.
We will honor and remember the Musser's remarkable son Fritz through this apprenticeship position every year.
Thank you Dan Asher for helping to haul all that cherry down the mountain on your back (& for getting the photo),
for being such a helpful housemate, for your enthusiasm, & for generally sharing the path with us a while.
Thanks Andrew D. for generously giving a whole month of your time to lead the (re)construction
of the salvaged timber frame, & for keeping Kenneth focused. You rock.
Nate White for coming from Minneapolis to help for 2 weeks!
Angela sends a big thank you to her girlfriends,
who have lined up to help with the building of the earth oven & get the gardens established.
Many thanks to Jim and Darcy.
To Drew and Louise, for their support, guidance and enthusiasm.
We are tremendously grateful to have been invited into your massive tailwind!
To our 1st registered student, Doug - your help is so very encouraging!
Thanks Daniel Clay (for the fab photo of Boyd's Pond on the Area Amenities page).
We very much appreciate Spencer Nelson's help - "internet-y stuff" wizard.
We have heard from lots of new friends, the list is long!
Your encouragement is awesome and buoys us up - thank you, thank you - everyone.
