Hans Karlsson Inshave
Description
An inshave is a specialized tool most often used to shape the concave seat of a Windsor chair once the roughing out has been completed with an adze. It can be used for many other concave carving projects too.
The curved blade of the inshave is slightly flat in the center and has a steeper radius along both sides where the blade transitions to the handles. This varied radius allows it to be used on both the flatter sections in the center of the chair seat (using the center portion of the blade) while the steeper seat sections near the spindles at the back can be hollowed with the upswept sides of the tool.
The handles are angled just right to offer efficient cutting while keeping your knuckles above the wood and safely out of the way.
Comes without a sheath.
